God is already at work in the lives of your youth.

Help them . . .

Claim It! Feel It! Live It!

Claim the Life brings together the hopes you have for your youth: spiritual formation, discipleship, Christian community, and faith knowledge.

Claim the Life is a 6-year comprehensive youth curriculum for Sunday school. Each year’s theme is developed in 2 school-year semesters of 16 weeks each.

Grades 7–9

  • Journey (Available for Fall 2007): Introduction to Christian living
  • Word (Available for Fall 2008): Scripture for life
  • Faith (Available for Fall 2009): Christian beliefs

Grades 10–12

  • Promise (Available for Fall 2007): God’s promises, Jesus’ promises, our promises
  • Story (Available for Fall 2008): The Bible’s big story
  • Call (Available for Fall 2009): Responding to God’s call

Claim the Life is specifically designed with younger youth and older youth in mind. However, classes with combined age levels will be able to use the materials successfully, especially since each week has two teaching options.

Claim the Life has two options for each session, so you can choose what will work best for your class:

  • “One Big Thing” (task or experience)
  • “Q & D” (discussion starter)

In each semester, 5 of the 16 lessons have a video vignette as the discussion starter.

Claim the Life lessons each revolve around a single key word (or phrase) from Scripture. These words are significant to claiming life as a Christian. They include Commitment, Blessing, Peace, Abundant Life, Forgiving, Humility, Abstain, Follow, Fruitful, Belonging, Praying, and Image of God—to name only a few of the 192 in the 6-year plan. Give your youth a language of faith so they can claim it, feel it, live it!
